Terms & Conditions
These conditions apply whether a contract has been
made verbally or in writing.
The hirer acts on behalf of all the passengers travelling. In the case of the hirer being a company, group etc then an individual must be named as the responsible person. The hirer will be held
responsible for all actions and decisions of passengers on board including any additional costs incurred, whether or not they travel with the party. Horizon Travel can only accept instructions from
the hirer. If the hirer is not travelling on the vehicle a representative must be chosen and the company informed prior to hire departure.
Quotations
Quotations are calculated on time, mileage and vehicle size plus any other costs incurred on the basis of the information provided by the
hirer.
The route used will be at the discretion of Horizon Travel, unless particularly specified by the hirer, in which case the route must be confirmed with the company at least 24 hours prior to
departure. The driver may at times use a shorter variation to the specified route due to unforeseen traffic / conditions.
Confirmation
Hire Confirmation by Horizon Travel or subsequent alterations will normally be in the form of a written confirmation unless
the booking is made at short notice.
The hirer must inform the company as soon as possible if any details require amending on the confirmation otherwise all written details will
apply.
Use of Vehicle
The hirer must not assume that the vehicle will be available between the outward and return journeys, nor to assume that the vehicle will remain at the destination for
hirer’s use unless previously agreed with the company.
Route and Time Variation.
The Company reserves the right to levy additional
charges than that agreed on the original quotation for additional mileage or time. The vehicle will depart at times agreed by the hirer; it is the respect of the hirer to account for all passengers
at those times. The company will not accept liability for losses incurred by passengers who fail to follow the hirer’s instructions.
Drivers Hours
Drivers are strictly regulated by law regarding driving hours rest periods etc. Neither the hirer nor any passenger shall delay or interrupt the journey in such as way
that the driver is breaching regulations.
Seating Capacity
At the time of booking the seating capacity must be specified by the hirer. Under no circumstances must the hirer load the vehicle beyond
its legal seating capacity and Seatbelts must be worn at all times.
Conveyance of Animals
No animals may be carried on any vehicle (other than guide dogs) without prior agreement.
Breakdowns and Delays
Horizon Travel gives advice on journey time in good faith. However as a result of breakdown, traffic congestion or other
events beyond the reasonable control of the company, journeys may take longer than expected and in the circumstances the company will not be liable for loss or inconvenience caused to the
hirer.
Cancellation by Hirer
If the hirer cancels, the following scale of charges will apply on the booking total Cost.
Period before 15 Days = 0%. 14 to 10 Days = Loss of deposit. 10 to 7 Days = 5O%. 6 to 1 Day -75%. Less than 24Hrs = 1OO%
Cancellation by the Company
In the event of circumstances beyond the control of Horizon Travel e.g. civil unrest, strikes, police road closures, terrorist attacks etc
(including adverse weather and road conditions) or in the event of the hirer taking any action varying agreed conditions unilaterally the company may, by returning all money paid and without further
liability cancel the contract.
Food and Drink
Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed on the vehicle. All food and drink (except confectionery) is prohibited from being consumed on any
vehicle without prior written consent.
Passengers Property
All passenger vehicles are subject to restrictions on carrying luggage. The hirer should notify the company in advance of any large items
or special requirements as some items may not be able to be carried. The hirer should notify Horizon Travel in advance if possible or the driver if at short notice of any items of exceptional values
that are to be carried. It is the hirer’s responsibility to minimise the risk of loss when property left unattended on the Vehicle. The hirer accepts that the driver shall make the final decision as
to whether or what extent the passenger’s property is carried. The company accepts personal property of the hirer and their passenger understanding that it will take all responsible steps to avoid
loss or damage.
Passengers Conduct
The hirer is responsible for the duration of the hire for any damage caused to the vehicle by any passenger. The driver is responsible for the safeties of
the vehicle at all times including the passengers safety whilst in the vehicle, such may remove or have removed any passenger from the vehicle whose behaviour is judged by the driver to prejudices
safety.
Complaints
In the event of a complaint regarding the services of Horizon Travel the hirer should seek a solution at the time from the driver or company. If a
satisfactory remedy cannot be provided, complaints should be submitted in writing to the Management within 14 days of terminations time of hire.
Refunds
In the event of the failure of the company to provide the booked service as detailed on the confirmation any refund will be limited to the amount paid for the
hire.
